Beyond Business
Changing Lives, Bringing Smiles.
Overview
At SRF, we believe that it is essential for companies to have a purpose more engaging than profits and that purpose should be intrinsic to the fabric of the organization. Building on this belief, SRF Foundation, formerly known as the Society for Education and Welfare Development, was set up in 1982 as the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of SRF Limited.
Drawing inspiration from its founders, Late Sir Shri Ram and Late Dr. Bharat Ram, who believed in contributing to society through education, SRF Foundation is dedicated to the transformation of education in the country.
“Only education can open the doors of prosperity.”

Born out of the vision of its founder, Padma Shri, Late Mrs. Manju Bharat Ram, The Shri Ram Schools were established in Delhi NCR in 1988, and ran under the aegis of SRF Foundation. SRF Foundation also runs the SRF Vidyalaya in Chennai and Gurugram, established in 1992 and 2020 respectively.
Currently, the SRF Foundation champions the cause of quality education in India and runs one of the largest community programs in and around SRF’s manufacturing plant locations. Additionally, it partners with like-minded organizations in other parts of the country to impart education and vocational training programs to underprivileged children and the youth. The focus is on improving both hard and soft infrastructure facilities in Government schools, promoting computer-aided learning, and digital inclusion of communities.
Our interventions are not limited to India only. We run impactful community programs in the areas of education, cleanliness, blood donation and other philanthropic campaigns around our manufacturing sites in Thailand, South Africa and Hungary.
This has been SRF’s humble way of making a small, yet deeply felt contribution to causes that are important and vital to our society.
Education
Our initiatives in the area of education are resolute in scope, extensive in reach and yet mere small steps within the context of the needs of our country, given her size and diversity. Through our various education programs, in partnership with like-minded organizations, academia and the Government, we have reached twenty-one locations in nine Indian States.
Today, most of our intervention schools are equipped with state-of-the-art digital technology-enabled classrooms, play equipment, science labs, thereby enhancing the learning experience of students and aiding in their holistic development.
At all our overseas locations, we empower our employees to get involved in their local communities and coordinate volunteer activities at schools in the vicinity of our operations.
Vocational Skills and Livelihood
Recent initiatives, such as ‘Skill India’ and ‘Make in India’ by the Government are positive and dedicated steps towards capacity building in rural India. While significant progress has been made in this direction, it needs to be complemented by the corporate sector.
At SRF, we work effortlessly to support the development of children as employable and contributing citizens. Through our partnership with organizations like Schneider Electric and The Times of India in the area of vocational skill development, we have expanded the scope of our flagship programs to train an increasing number of Indians, with a focus on our youth, while covering new geographies.
Natural Resource Management
We have been working in the area of Natural Resource Management (NRM) since 2005, with the aim of livelihood promotion, ecological conservation, and improvement in the socio-economic condition of poor and marginalized families, living in the forty-two villages of the Tijara Block of Alwar district in Rajasthan. The scope of the project includes rainwater harvesting, wasteland restoration, large scale plantation, agricultural intervention, livestock promotion, micro-enterprise development, and community mobilization through women self-help and user groups.
Through this intervention, we have benefited more than 8,200+ farmer families.
Our CSR Champions
When it comes to community initiatives, we believe in all for one and one for all. Each SRF employee is a volunteer!
